We're Not In Kansas Anymore....

Who would have ever thought that living in Brooklyn you needed to worry about tornados??  I turned on the TV last week just in time to see "Tornado Warning, take cover in the the lowest part of your house"!  I never thought I could move so fast!  I got my fat butt in gear, scooped my daughter up in my arms, grabbed my son by the hand and FLEW down the flight of stairs! We took cover as best we could and waited for it to be over.  I don't know why, but I have always been afraid of tornados. Since I live in Brooklyn I always thought it was an irrational fear.  I guess I was wrong.  My other irrational fear is Zombies.....What are the chances?

Join the Friday blog hops and have a fun filled weekend everyone!

that is scary when you get those "natural diasters" that are unusual for the area, like tornados in Brooklyn. When one thinks of tornados, they think, of course, of Kansas or the MidWest not on the East Coast. I'm with you, tornados scare me yet I live in earthquake country and they don't phase me at all, weird. I would have done the same thing had I heard such a warning, grab the dog (kids are grown) and head for the low part of my house (ummmm I live in a one-story house, I better figure out where is the low part)

glad all are safe!

Tornadoes in Brooklyn? Wow! There are some really strange weather phenoms and natural disasters happening these days that no one was ever expecting. Areas that never had floods or mudslides or forest fires are all now becoming disaster zones. Who says global warming is a myth!? Not me, that's for sure! - G

I lived in the Bronx - never had tornadoes or fear of them. Now zombies, I'm pretty sure I saw a few. Oh, the terror!

Hi from the Over 40 blog hop.
I don't think anyone can be totally tornado-free.
Those of us here in the Midwest take them as a fact of life--not that we enjoy them at all!
I hope you're ok now... at least in time to recover before the Halloween zombies come out...,
