Frustration

The last two days have been filled with rather frustrating conversations with my husband.  Here is one example:

I had just put pasta in the boiling water and asked my husband to watch Princess K (Our 2 1/2 yr old daughter), so that I could go upstairs and take a quick shower.  After I got upstairs I decided to ask him to give the pasta a quick stir.

Me:  Honey....(no answer)
Me:  Honey...(no answer)
Me:  HONEY!!!!!

Him:  Yes?

Me:  Could you please stir the pasta?

Him:  OK.

TWO SECONDS AFTER I GET IN THE SHOWER I hear Princess K knocking on the bathroom door.

Princess K:  Mama, Mama, Mama

Me:  Honey....(no answer)
Me:  Honey....(no answer)
Me:  HONEY!!!!

Him:  Yes?

Me:  I thought you were watching Princess K?

Him:  Well, you asked me to stir the pasta.

Me:  And?

Him:  And, I can't do two things at once!

ME: #!&*@#!*?#@!?!!!!!!!!

Can you just feel my frustration?

On a more calm and relaxed note...I went to some great garage sales over the weekend and got some fantastic bargains.  The one item I am most excited about is a digital camera!  Yeah!!!  I can now publish pictures on my blog again.  I also found toys and books for my daughter and a new purse for me.

I LOVE garage sales and try to get to one every weekend.  I think I can get a few more in before the cold weather comes and garage sale season is over.

What is the best item that you ever found at a garage sale?

Okay, I'm looking forward to whatever pictures you'll be sharing with your new camera. I love garage sales too. No comment on your sweet clueless hubby - I just finished watching "Snapped" you know the program about women who totally lost it and....well we won't go there! Happy Wednesday!

lol - sorry, I'm not laughing at your frustration but at the conversation... it made me think about a phone call I made one day:
ring.. ring
somebody answered: hello?
me: hi, is "x" there?
s.a: yes...
silence... silence...
me: hello?
s.a: yes?
me: you told me "x" was there..
s.a: yes...
me: can I talk to her?
s.a: oh, you want to talk to her?
me: .... oh,no, I'm just wondering about her whereabouts...what do you think??

Not many men can do two things at once! So frustrating! lol

Have a great time at the wedding on Friday!! I'm sure you'll look fab!

@Haupi - I always wondered what actually brought those women to the "Snapping" point. At least a few of them must have had "one too many" frustrating conversations with their husbands!

@OJ - Can you believe I've had a similar conversation to yours? That person didn't live in Brooklyn, did they? :-)

@ Java - Much disgust (I hate looking in the mirror)and more than three outfits later, I think I finally found the "right" one. I hope to take some pictures at the wedding and maybe get up the nerve to show you guys what I finally look like.

Living in southern CA it never even occurred to me that there might be a garage sale season. If those garages are closing, you know where to come!

let's face it, men just don't know how to multitask like us women who are naturally born with it ;o)
i totally felt your frustration!

first time visiting your blog; I totally agree with the commenter that said men can't multi-task like us women. we would be stirring the pasta, reading the kids a story and unstacking the dishwasher at the same time :)

enjoyed reading some of your entries. Max Lucado is a favorite Christian author of mine; haven't read him in a long time but was never disappointed with anything I read of his

I don't usually go to a lot of garage sales these days, I'm trying to think the last good bargain I found and I'm having trouble with it (so it must not have been that good of a bargain :)

hoping your son has adapted well to junior high :)

added myself as a follower to your blog; looking forward to getting to know you better :)

Multi-tasking is not a guy's strong suit. ;) I think they left that out of the manual, or something.

Good for you! Finding a digital camera at a garage sale. A limoges chocolate pot was my best find.

Hey, BBL!

i've been away far too long, and it's good to be here on your beautiful blog.

Your husband can't help it, Honey. Its the Y-chromosome thing. I had to laugh - not at you, of course, but with you.

The best things I ever bought at yard sales were bridesmaids dresses for my granddaughters to play dress-up in. Never paid more than .50 for one, and they are still in my closet! (Abbey is only two)!
