I got goosebumps the first time I saw this video. I think you will love it as much as I do. As they say on their website: "Together, we will connect the world through music!"

Music Can Change The World
About a year ago I stumbled across a website called "Playing For Change". I was inspired by their mission and truly believe that their idea can and will make a difference in the world. The mission statement on their website states: "Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The idea for this project arose from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. No matter whether people come from different geographic, political, economic, spiritual or ideological backgrounds, music has the universal power to transcend and unite us as one human race. And with this truth firmly fixed in our minds, we set out to share it with the world".
I got goosebumps the first time I saw this video. I think you will love it as much as I do. As they say on their website: "Together, we will connect the world through music!"

Just stopping by to say hello. My internet is slow, and I can't pull up the video, but love the Forward post under it.
He would hang out at Santa Monica beach near the 'muscle' workout area!. Great singer...He still is there!
I agree! Music is such a powerful medium and memory trigger. I get annoyed at people who are music snobs and bash other people's taste in pop music. Who cares? If it makes you happy and it moves you then that's all that matters. - G
What a great idea. I love that song too.
Hi there.
Stopping by from the Friday Follow over 40 to say hello.

Music is an international language that appeals to everyone from a young baby to an elderly person! Such a blessing in my life! In fact, that's one thing that attracted me to my husband when we first met. He has a beautiful singing voice and plays the guitar (and violin).
I'm so glad you shared this video. I've seen it several times before and it gets me every time. I agree with you. Remember that old adage,"Music calms the savage beast." Same thing. When it comes down to it we all have a savage beast in us.
Coming by via Follow Friday 40+.
Su-sieee! Mac

music connects us all on deep levels!
REBUILD, HEAL, SUPPORT, SEND YOUR LOVE TO NEW ORLEANS!
For the past 10 years I have been attending a Jazz festival in Saratoga Springs, New York.
The music is fabulous but its the people that hooked me. Most return every year and there is an outpouring of love to everyone. It is the one place I know race is erased. JAZZ lovers understand the power behind one cord.
Thanks for sharing the video... makes me smile, dance and proud
Music has & will continue to do great things in the world. It connects us on another level. Thanks for posting about this project.
I saw your link on Words of Wisdom & decided to stop by & say hi!
Hi!
We "accidentally" recorded this on PBS awhile back thinking we were recording something else. We were so blessed by it and watched it in tears. It was very moving! I'm a late visitor from Follow Friday Over 40. I love your blog and I'm now your newest follower. I look forward to getting to know you.
Have a great weekend! Candace
