I giggled to myself just yesterday about the incongruity of reading Uncle Tom's Cabin on my Nook. :)
I will never give up real books though and I collect vintage children's books. Sometimes I go down in my library and just run my hands over a favorite or two and smile.Lizziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03469755888487567296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3943105503307093774.post-79902432165354592582010-06-20T20:57:32.836-04:002010-06-20T20:57:32.836-04:00Thanks for following me. Heck, I still remember 8 track tapes and dial phones, and typing on a manual typewriter.Karen Mortensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15991996620864410833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3943105503307093774.post-39726344856721126882010-06-18T22:51:01.113-04:002010-06-18T22:51:01.113-04:00I'm 62 and have to confess that I would be los...I'm 62 and have to confess that I would be lost without my Blackberry. (Sigh). I don't use a ton of apps, though, just keep my calendar and contacts there, and check the weather. It's cool for texting, and I have internet access, and I actually read and comment on blogs posts from it sometimes! So, I've rationalized my Blackberry, but I have not defense for owning three iPods.cj Schlottmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18217936774632262633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3943105503307093774.post-13756127527780333352010-06-17T12:12:29.036-04:002010-06-17T12:12:29.036-04:00Awww thank you. I have no idea why. I tried to leave a comment on your blog but it would not post. So, I will say it here...You go girl!! Being asked to participate in that writing class is such an honor. You should be proud of yourself! You do make it sound tempting though. :-)

Margo - Thanks so much for becoming a follower. I am going to pay a visit to your blog in just a few moments. I'm glad you share my passion for actual books.

Chrissy - It is such a shame about the old book stores closing up. There are still a few in Brooklyn, but not many. I know what you mean about finding old first edition books. It is like going on a treasure hunt when you step into those old stores. Lots of fun. :-)

Hey Green Monkey - Great to have you back. :-) Funny how your "phone" sucks as a phone but excels at other things. I'm sure I couldn't begin to learn how to use it. I am like Everyday Kathy who said in her above response that she owns a plain old flip phone with no apps. I might just have to upgrade though because my cell plan is almost up and they always give you a new phone as a reward for renewing the contract. I don't think they even make my current phone anymore! :-)Brooklyn Book Loverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12203091434888046751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3943105503307093774.post-7010150753861083412010-06-16T16:24:02.938-04:002010-06-16T16:24:02.938-04:00crazy how you turn into your parents! I have to admit owning a Kindle. I LOVE the instant gratification it affords... think of a book and you can have it in your hands in seconds. BUT with that being said I love the experience of reading SO MUCH more with a real book.

I have a very old NO APP flip phone so in some ways I am a dinosaur too!!Everyday Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05463498796184060882noreply@blogger.com
